SDFSC is excited that TWO pairs teams have qualified for the 2018 US Figure Skating Championships on December 29th and 30th:
- Juvenile Pairs – Aiden Elswick and Ashley Stark
- Intermediate Pairs – Katie and Nathan Luong
Fox 5 News interviewed Aiden and Ashley at a practice session in a story called “Teen ice skating pair prepares for first national competition.” There is also a GoFundMe page to help cover travel costs.
We wish safe travels and great skates for all our competitive skaters.
We are happy to announce that both of our SDFSC Pair Teams brought home the Gold after competing at this year’s Pacific Coast Sectional Championships in Spokane, Washington.
Ashley Stark and Aiden Elswick had a spectacular performance in the Juvenile Pairs division, not only winning the Gold medal but, also winning 3 out of a possible 4 pins for Special Achievement.
Continuing in the same amazing style, Katie and Nathan Luong also took first place in the Intermediate Pairs division, beating the 2nd place team by almost 20 points and earning all 3 pins for Special Achievement.
That’s a Wow!!
The San Diego Figure Skating Club would like to congratulate all of you on a wonderful performance.

Coming off a silver medal performance at the Trophy D’Ecosse in Scotland, Team del Sol Senior skated to a season’s best score at this year’s U.S. Synchronized Skating Nationals in Rockford, IL. After an on-ice injury, the team, skating 15 skaters, rallied to earn a 6th place finish in the short program with a score of 43.43. In the Freeskate, the team, at full strength, solidified their 6th place finish with a season’s best combined score of 131.57 which included positive GOEs for their creative intersection and ending creative element.
